Many parks nearby, the Silver Lake is one of my favourite hiking places, just 10 minutes out of Perth off Highway 7. We should still see beautiful maple leaves at the end of October if the weather holds.

Organic food store, Foodsmith. The first thing we checked out before we moved out here! Food first ;) now we know several local small farmers in our valley.

Perth is about one hour south west of Ottawa, and one hour north west of Kingston. Small town like Carleton Place is also a delightful place for a visit. You will enjoy it all! Quiet small town charms, boutique stores, small restaurants, stone buildings, and with a river meandering through the town!
